Suppose you won a translation contest and your friend, Jack, wrote an email to congratulate you and ask for advice on translation. Write him a replay to
1) thank him, and
2) give your advice.
You should write about 100 words on ANSWER SHEET.
Do not sign your own name. Use “Li Ming” instead.
Do not write the address.(10 points)
2016年考研英语二小作文考的是电子邮件类应用文。
在该电子邮件类应用文的正文写作中，以下三点将成为作文评分中的三大要素：(1)这是一份回复类的电子邮件，其回复的特色需在正文的第一段加以体现。其中，恭贺的名词形式是否拼写准确、提供建议的段首句选择是否委婉而恰当都是关键;(2)第二段提供提高翻译水平的具体措施(对于大多数考生而言，这部分有话可说，有话会说，所以难度不大);(3)第三段如何对该电子邮件进行合理收尾也是这类作文的关键。
此外，需要在作文中使用地道而纯正的英语书面语表示：
(1)“不断练习”(constant practice)
(2)“准确及流利”(accuracy and fluency)
(3)“可以使某人做某事”(… is an effective way for somebody to do something.)
(4)“有用”(be beneficial)
(5)“老师的指导”(professional instruction from experts)
这些都将成为是否可以获得高分的重要考量。

Dear Jack,
I am writing this letter in purpose of expressing my appreciation to you. I feel so honored to be the winner of the translation contest. It is very kind of you to encourage me and I am so flattered.
As you know, I am very fond of translation and I spent most of my spare time on studying translation. I think you can take the following steps to improve your translation skills. First of all, you can read some academic textbook and master the theory of translation. What’s more, it is beneficial for you to broaden your mind by browsing some newspaper and journals frequently. Most important of all, you are supposed to practice as much as you can.
I hope you can find these proposals useful and practical. If you have any questions, please contact me at anytime you like. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
