1.a large/small/great amount of 一些
【例句】
A million dollars is a large amount of money to me.
100万美元对我来说是一笔巨款。
【总结】a large/small/great amount of 后接不可数名词
【拓展】the amount of... 作主语时，谓语动词用单数形式。
The amount of money spent on the bridge was large. 这座桥耗资巨大。 large amounts of... 作主语时，谓语动词要用复数形式 ?表示“许多”的短语：
1)修饰可数名词：a great many, many, a good many, a (large, great )number of, (many a )
2)修饰不可数名词： much, a great / good deal of, a great amount of
3)修饰可数或不可数名词a lot of, lots of, plenty of, a large / great quantity of(谓语视名词特性而定)，quantities of(谓语用复数)
(1) a great / good many + 名词复数，中间无"of"。A great many people have seen the film.
(2) a great / good many + of + the / these / those / one's + 名词复数 A great many of the people have seen the film.
2.a little一点，少许，略微，稍
【例句】After a little he got up and left. 过了一会儿他站起来走了。
【总结】a little用于不可数名词和形容词前。
3.a loaf of一条,一块
【例句】Fanny cut half a loaf of bread with a fine knife. fanny用一把锋利的刀切了一半面包 4.a piece of一张(片，块，……)
【例句】Would you please give me a piece of paper? 能给我一张纸吗?
【总结】a piece of用在不可数名词前，表示数量
【辨析】a piece of/a loaf of/a bar of piece 片，面 piece是用来形容比较薄的东西的，纸,切片,面包，piece 一片的意思 loaf棱角不分明的长方体 可以形容面包，"法棍“面包那种的就叫loaf,长条的那种。以loaf来形容这种形状。 bar棱角分明长方体(形)、金条，工具栏(toolbar)...
【拓展】 a bottle of一瓶; a pound of一磅; half a pound of半磅; a quarter of四分之一(1/4); a tin of一听 5.A rather than B 与其B，不如A
【例句】He is an explorer rather than a sailor. 与其说他是一个海员，不如说他是一个探险者。 【总结】A rather than B意为“是……而不是……;与其……不如……”。表示客观事实;它连接的并列成分可以是名词、代词、形容词、介词(短语)、动名词、分句、不定式、动词等。
